After waking up, Stephen King faces bankruptcy, saying, “I don’t know what went wrong.”

As the curtain falls on the era of wokeness, TV shows that put social issues before comedy or drama are finding themselves on the chopping block. ABC has announced that the first casualty of this shift is none other than the embodiment of wokeness itself: “The Conners.”

ABC Program Director Joe Barron has made it clear, “We need to pull the plug on it before potential boycotts kick in. Once Kid Rock enters the picture, it’s pretty much game over.”

The woke movement, which started as a counter-response to the Tea Party, has been criticized for its focus on societal issues, leading to a growing sense of fatigue among viewers.

However, Tara Newhole points out, “Not everyone feels this way. We’ve noticed that the ‘anti-woke’ demographic tends to be made up of individuals with a more simplistic mindset. Those who view empathy and concern for others as negatives are usually older individuals with limited cognitive abilities.”

“The Conners” tackles topics such as LGBTQ issues, mental health, substance abuse, and navigating complex family dynamics. The show boasts a diverse and talented cast. In essence, it strays from the simplistic, easy-to-watch style of shows like “Charles in Charge,” which seems to be the preference of certain viewers seeking uncomplicated entertainment featuring actors with controversial histories.
