Was a Nikki Haley campaign staffer arrested for trying to bribe voters?
Agents from the United States Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) swooped in on a Sunday night to apprehend a low-ranking member of Nikki Haley’s campaign staff. According to a source at CID’s headquarters, the staffer was allegedly offering voters $1000 in prepaid debit cards as an incentive to cast their ballots for her boss.
The staffer, a cheerful soul who goes by the name “Joan, joined the Haley campaign in September. She was adamant that the cash handout scheme was her brainchild and that Nikki Haley was in the dark about her actions. She vehemently denied any suggestions of bribing Iowans to vote for Haley. According to reports, “Joan” claimed she bought the gift cards with her savings and was merely “radiating love and positivity” to the people of Iowa.
Tonight, Iowans from every corner of the state, spanning 1,697 districts across 99 counties, will converge in droves at schools and community centers to partake in their first-in-the-nation caucus. They’ll be casting secret ballots for their preferred candidates in what should ideally be a clean and fair election. It’s anticipated that the anti-Trump brigade, comprising both Republicans and Democrats, will pull out all the stops to prevent him from reclaiming his rightful place in the Oval Office.
