Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg Agree to Play a Game of Slappers-Only GoldenEye to Sort Out Their Differences
Unexpectedly, tech billionaire Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg agree to play a friendly game of GoldenEye, a beloved Nintendo 64 title, to solve their problems rather than engage in a physical fight. Elon Musk made this choice jokingly when he tweeted that he would be game for a cage fight with Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg took the challenge seriously and said, “No one gets away with making jokes about fighting with me. I’m going to give him a harsh slap. I’m going to kill him with a smack!” With eight weeks before the combat, both participants should have enough time to prepare. According to reports, Zuckerberg intends to return to his parent’s house to recreate the setting in which he played GoldenEye for the first time. On the other hand, Musk has hired former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan to help him train.
The match will be played on the Complex map with the “slappers only” setting turned on. Additional restrictions include a ten-minute time limit and no Oddjob. Bookmakers have picked Musk as the underdog, citing his preference for PC gaming. However, they also noted that Zuckerberg wanted to fight on the Facility map, leading to uncertainty about how he would handle Complex.
Interestingly, former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos also expressed interest in participating but was outright dismissed. As the world awaits this unique showdown between two tech titans, it’s clear that this event will be one for the book.
